News and developments
We have recently begun to produce a line of scenic accesories including many pre-decorated plastic parts such as tunnel portals, drain culverts, retaining walls, swimming pools, tents, rock cliff faces etc. We have also produced scenic flock and pull apart foilage etc. We are introducting items suitable for various scales from N to G but with more in HO and 0/0n30. As of now (September 2020) we have already started selling these in Taiwan and are accepting orders from overseas.
New Taiwan backdrops have been added to our range and a page for these has been added. We although all done using photos taken on the East side of Taiwan they are generic enough they may work for many other countries too.
We were quite busy in 2019, mostly with work for customers in Taiwan and mainland China on a number of things including a large HO layout and a 5" gauge indoor ride on train with scenery in GuangDong (China) and OEM/ODM work for others. This year has started somewhat not to plan with the Wuhan Corona virus influencing supply chains in China. Thankfully we are much better placed than many model producers with about half of our activity in Taiwan that is relatively unaffected (in general Taiwan has managed to avoid the virus more than pretty much anywhere else). Recently we have been focusing on increasing the Taiwan side of our operations. This year we moved our shop front to a new location, 3 stops North of the old one on the MRT (nearest station is Export Processing Zone). Although still a little chaotic with the move we can now accept customers visiting our store front but ideally by appointment. Currently we are experiencing some issues with shipping of orders outside of Taiwan but these need to be looked at on a case by case basis as the situation keeps changing and is not the same for all countries but is largely far more problematic than normal. Our production in Taiwan has been unaffected by the virus but effects in mainland China this year were severe.
The Queensland HO/HOn3.5 engine produced with Wuiske models and released in July 2018. Our fifth QR RTR engine (for a market where a competitor who announced engines and even took customer money in 2012 has at the time of writing in September 2018 yet to deliver any customer engines!!). Yes, we actually can sort out delivery. Being in Asia and speaking Chinese does help!! That said even a Taiwan company wanting models produced here still gets us to organize the production so our skills go beyond just translation and being on the ground.
WAGR HO scale WO class ore wagons to match our L class engines. These wagons were released in the middle of 2018 at the Perth AMRA exhibition. A second batch of running numbers was released in October 2018.
Our first 5" gauge steam outline engine. Has sound and syncronised "smoke" (actually steam since water is used). Our most complex and powerful engine in 5". It can haul over 30 people without problems. It was supplied to the customer in Febuary 2018.
The Queensland 2100 class (made with Wuiske models) was a suddenly released engine and the first from us at the start of 2018.
We have delivered the QR 1720 models made again working with Wuiske models for Queensland. It can also count as a South African engine as some have been exported from Queensland to South Africa. It is available ready to run with a choice of liveries, original and driver only versions. All the usual features like DCC ready, flywheels, Kadee couplers, both 12mm and 16.5mm gauge available and just well all round greatness (we are not actually sure if anyone reads this far but we hope so)...
This was the third engine made together by us and Wuiske models and it is also the third to be delivered for this market by any manufacturer!
The bogies for these are already available with wheels. A$14.95 a pair but need to be ordered with 6 or more pairs or with other products together.
In late 2016 we released NQR open wagons in 0n30 to match our "Puffing Billy" NA class engines. We hope to produce other rolling stock in 2017 for several of the markets we have already produced for.
We also hope to follow this up with other rolling stock to match our NA "Puffing Billy" engines at some time in the future.
We have 0 gauge wheels for the NSW market available now. These are sold by Berg's Hobbies in Australia or direct from Taiwan for non-Australian customers.
We have also been working on some 5 inch gauge ride on trains for Taiwan which is keeping us busy of late.
The WAGR/Westrail L class was released in September 2015. A grain wagon made by Frateschi for us is now also available.
In February 2016 the Bi-centenial livery of the 2401 model was released with Wuiske models and sold out within days.
More information will be posted here as the products are near to completion.
